Jail.com API Terms of Use

In order to use the Jail.com API, you agree to:

  1. Not request any method more than once a second. Jail.com tracks all requests made by ip address.
  2. Clearly display the Jail.com name or logo on any location where Jail.com data appears.
  3. Link back to the page on Jail.com where the data appears.
  4. Include the following text on any location where Jail.com data appears: "Individuals are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Data is believed to be reliable but is provided "as is". Contact the appropriate governmental agency to verify."
  5. Not use the API to harvest or index Jail.com data without our explicit written consent.
  6. You may cache information obtained from the Jail.com API for up to 24 hours.
  7. Not sublicense or redistribute Jail.com data to any 3rd parties.
  8. Not modify or change Jail.com data.
  9. Not name your application "Jail.com" and not use "Jail.com" in your application's name. You may use the Jail.com logo to acknowledge your apps association with Jail.com, but not as the main logo for or within your app.
  10. Not charge money to remove Jail.com data from your site or application.
  11. Not allow your user's comments to appear on any location where Jail.com data appears.
  12. Not rank or categorize Jail.com.com data (Examples include Top 10 Mugshots, The Scariest Mugshots, etc.)
  13. Reputation Management companies are not permitted to use the API.
  14. Websites or Applications with adult content are not permitted to use the API.
  15. Acknowledge that your access to the API can be suspended for any infraction of these terms.
  16. Acknowledge that these terms may be updated or amended at any time without prior notice, and that your continued use of the API constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
