The mission of the Sheriff James C. Morgan Detention Facility is to provide safe, secure constitutional and humane care for pre-trial and sentenced inmates in the custody of the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and to provide a safe, secure and professional environment for the facility staff. The Chambers County Detention Facility staff is comprised of 32 employees including twenty-five correction officers, two Lieutenants, an Investigator, a maintenance supervisor, two nurses and a dietition.
There are three ways to make a bond on charges: CASH BOND: Cash in the amount of the total bond. This must be either a money order or cashier's check. Cash Bonds must be made at the Chambers County Circuit Clerks Office. PROPERTY BOND: The detention center can approve the bond if you own property in Chambers County. If your property is located in another county, you must go to that county Sheriff's Department to have the bond approved. Once approved, bring the bond papers to the Chambers County Jail. Bonding Company: You may use a professional bonding company licensed to do business in Chambers County.
Visitation is held on Saturday and Sundays only. Inmates with last names starting with A-K are allowed visitation on Saturdays. Inmates with last names starting with L-Z are allowed visitation on Sundays. Visitation will be by approved visitor list only. The inmate shall select no more than 4 persons to be placed on his/her list.
