Our primary duty is to serve our community by providing a safe, secure facility where people are treated with dignity and respect and learn to be accountable for their actions. The county jail houses those charged and awaiting trial, those arrested on warrants, those serving sentences at the county jail, those placed on holds by Parole and Probation, those sentenced to and awaiting beds in the state prison system or Community Corrections, those sentenced by municipal courts in our county as well as others placed here on holds for other agencies. In keeping with the mission of the Douglas County Jail, which states in part that we will try to release inmates in better condition than when they came in, we offer many programs and services to inmates to help them better themselves and make productive use of their time while incarcerated.
Lobby visitation hours are M - F from 8:00 am - 8:00pm, on a first-come, first-served basis. Internet visitation is still available on the weekends. Lock down times will prohibit inmates from visiting and vary depending on Jail operations and/or Jail emergencies.
