Scott County, Indiana is nestled in the beautiful Ohio valley, with approximately 190 square miles of rural countryside and a population of approximately 24,000. Only 30 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky, our community is a graceful blend of small town traditions and rich history. Scott County was formed in 1820 from parts of Clark, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, and Washington counties. It was named for General Charles Scott, who was Governor of Kentucky from 1808 to 1812.
